Arroyo Grande RFC will enjoy a break in its competition schedule following the third event in the Palo Alto 7s series on Saturday, July 24. Training, however, continues at Riverbottom Field in Arroyo Grande on Thursday, July 29 (6 p.m.). As per club policy, new players are always welcome to participate (directions to Riverbottom Field can be found under the DIRECTIONS link on the left index).

Our remaining summer 7s fixture list remains as follows:

Arroyo Grande RFC 7s – Saturday, Aug. 28
San Luis Obispo RFC Trip-Tip 7s – Saturday, Sept. 11

Arroyo Grande RFC finished 1-2-1 during the third of our three events at the Palo Alto 7s series on Saturday, July 24. Arroyo Grande opened the event with a 21-14 victory against Santa Rosa B, scoring late in the second half to win the match. After going level at two tries apiece during the second match, however, Arroyo Grande dropped a 26-14 decision against Olympic Club Social. The club returned during the third match to draw San Jose Seahawks A, 19-19, scoring all three tries during a quick burst early in the second half. Arroyo Grande finished the event with a 24-21 loss against Samoa United B.

A continued thanks goes out to all of the players who were able to make the trip north and represent not only Arroyo Grande RFC, but central coast rugby, as well.

Welcome to the official web site of Arroyo Grande Rugby Football Club. We are located in Arroyo Grande, Calif., approximately 10 miles south of San Luis Obispo on California’s beautiful central coast. The 2010 season marked our 13-year anniversary and since our inception we have enjoyed many successes, including winning the Southern California Blue Division title in 1999. We currently play in Division II of the Northern California Rugby Football Union and remain one of the few clubs in the United States to have both separate practice and competition pitches – each of which are used solely for rugby training and matches.

Off the field, the club strives to be a beneficial community member by sponsoring a number of benevolent activities every year. We believe the character of our membership is our most important resource and we make that identity our chief priority. Our organization was founded on three pillars: HONESTY, INTEGRITY and COMMITMENT and these three characteristics remain our guiding principles.

We welcome all interested athletes and supporters, either those who are new to the game or are already experienced players. Please contact us using the index to the left or reach us via arroyogranderugby@gmail.com. You can also follow us via Twitter at AGRugby.

ARROYO GRANDE RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB would like to extend an invitation to all of those interested in participating at all levels, including players, fans and supporters. There are no age limitations and both male and female athletes are welcome.

We go to great lengths to provide a socially acceptable atmosphere with the encouragement of surrounding family attendance at all of our events.

We strive for an enjoyable afternoon for all of those involved in a beautiful setting that includes an old-fashioned country barbeque at the conclusion of each match.

Come one, come all …

Bo Kelly, AGRFC President
