Senior Manager Ticket Strategy & Operations

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Austin Gilgronis (AG Rugby), one of the premier clubs in Major League Rugby, is seeking up-and-coming strategic ticketing professionals to help create a healthy ticketing infrastructure for the organization. Austin is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, known for its music scene and budding technology sector, with a population eager to indulge in professional sports.

AG Rugby is one of the founding members of the league and, under its new ownership group, aims to expand its fan base through dynamic marketing, second-to-none game day experience, and the efforts of its newly formed ticketing department.

As the Senior Manager, Ticket Strategy and Operations you will be responsible for managing the relationship between the club and its ticketing partner, building ticket plans, managing ticket inventory, overseeing the organization’s CRM system, establishing a complete ticket reporting system, and maintaining organizational relationships with outside vendors as it relates to ticketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • In conjunction with the Club’s ticketing partner, build out a manifest for AG Rugby home matches and needed supporting events
  • Build price codes, offer codes, and additional ticket classifications to allow for accurate, real-time reporting
  • Maintain pricing plan for all season tickets, group tickets, individual tickets, and mini-plans
  • Run the club’s box office, in conjunction with the host venue’s internal team, on Matchdays and for other supporting events
  • Create and maintain Club’s CRM initiatives inclusive of maintaining lead lists, building dashboards, offering to forecast, and managing inventory
  • Calculate commission and bonus for the sales team
  • Serve as the point-of-contact for the Club’s vendors and consultants for ticket-related programs
  • Serve as a key member of the AG Rugby leadership team by offering added strategic thoughts to company-wide challenges
  • Provide excellent customer service at all points in time
  • Perform well in a team environment supporting the success of others
  • Desire to build a career in professional sports
  • Openness, and willingness to coaching and development
  • Attend AG Rugby matches, networking events, and other activities in the Greater Austin market with the purpose of growing the fan base

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent presentation skills and professional appearance
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university
  • Strong work ethic
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with a professional sports team, collegiate program, or entertainment venue
  • Experience with Ticketmaster and Archtics
  • Prior history of working with a CRM system (Salesforce, Dynamics, Hubspot, Zoho) is essential
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required and travel as needed
  • Strong listening skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain a team-oriented environment
  • Lives and thinks outside of the established way of doing things
  • Act as an open and collaborative teammate to help the organization achieve goals

The AG Rugby Internship Program is the start for entry-level and future talent. We are focused on identifying, developing, and nurturing top performers through our internship program. During our internship program, students will gain exposure across our business while making lifelong connections and being exposed to the world of rugby.
The AG Rugby Internship Program is a learning opportunity for junior/senior undergraduate and graduate students that allows participants to contribute to the success of AG Rugby while gaining a behind-the-scenes learning experience.
Interns will work within specific departments and gain exposure to the business of professional rugby.
Applicant placement within an AG Rugby’s Departments is based on the candidate’s interest, experience, and academic achievement. All positions are located at the AG Rugby office in Round Rock, Texas.
This internship does not guarantee employment with AG Rugby upon completion.

GENERAL
All internship positions will be in-person, but schedules will vary based on availability and supervisor’s schedules. Interns will be paid for working match days throughout the season.

  •  Self-motivated, detail oriented, adaptable, and dependable
  • Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills

Dates: January 2022 – June 2022 (with circumstances permitting)
Location: AG Rugby Office, Round Rock, TX & Bold Stadium at Circuit of the Americas
Time Requirement: 20-30 hours/week, including nights, weekends, and game days

TICKETING 
  • Prospecting for potential membership and group sales
  • Assist with creative marketing ideas
  • Help coordinate hospitality areas for matchdays
  • Assistance with in-/out-bound phone traffic related to sales and ticketing
  • Other duties as assigned
GAMEDAY AND EVENT OPERATIONS
  • Assist in development of match themes and game day experiences
  • Help with scheduling and onsite activations, and in stadium promotions
  • Monitor and engage with suppliers and vendors
  • Assist in developing weekly match day emails, match day run orders
  • Assist with event planning and ability to attend events
SOCIAL MEDIA AND DIGITAL CONTENT
  • Assist in creation and development of content to distribute each week across all social media platforms
  •  Help with scheduling and implementing a monthly, weekly, daily social media calendar.
  • Monitor and engage communication with fans across all social media platforms in real time
  • Assist in developing and updating website content
ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES 
  • Assist in scheduling 512 Crew appearances, gameday bands and musicians, and other entertainment services
  •  Create timelines for event logistics
  • Work closely with social media team to conceptualize and execute content for 512 Crew social media
  • Assist with all entertainment operations in the office and on match days
MASCOT
  • Work closely with Entertainment team and Mascot to coordinate mascot’s schedule
  • Ensure all in-game elements involving the mascot are executed properly
  •  Assist with the conceptualization of new skits, stunts, as well as other innovative ideas to enhance game presentation, team events and community appearances
  • Assist with prop and costume production, care, laundering and maintenance
  • Work closely with social media team to conceptualize and execute content for AG Rugby’s mascot social media channels
TEAM MANAGEMENT
  • Assist with team logistics – Flights, Hotels, Busses/Vans and Meals
  • Coordinate player schedules/media engagements/living arrangements
  • Build team weekly schedule
  • Order/distribute team kit and equipment
  • Coordinate gameday movements with production and team
